This year Danfloor UK proudly celebrates 40 years of operating within the UK.

The story began in 1982 when Danish born EN Carpets launched their range of carpets to the UK market at the Harrogate Flooring show. Following a warm reception Director Karin Nyvang gathered UK agents at an event in Thornbury in August 1983 to formally launch the UK arm of the company.

EN Carpets is now known as danfloor Uk and offers a full range of commercial carpets, but 40 years ago the strength of the company lay in the Scandinavian-style carpets and a cut length service provided to customers.

At the launch EN Carpets employees sited that “a quality image is the heart of the operation” and this is something that danfloor Uk prides itself on today.

The range has grown from a handful of wool and synthetic products to around 25 ranges spanning across broadloom carpets, carpet tiles and entrance matting products. Operating across many commercial sectors from healthcare to education danfloor Uk is a well-known brand name when it comes to commercial carpets.

To mark the celebrations, both in the UK and in Denmark where they are celebrating 50 years of operation, several company events will be happening, including a celebration evening in Denmark to mark the occasions. In addition to this danfloor Uk employees have set themselves a target to raise £5000 to be donated to a handful of local charities. From Cake baking to trekking and badminton tournaments the team based in Bristol hope to raise enough money to help those in need within the local area.
