Taking the initial brief for two fluted back and bulbous four-seater sofas, upholstered in a deep velvet with coordinating ottomans the Shackletons design team consisting of Gill, Elisabet Esteva Head of Product Design and Shona Cushnahan Upholstered Furniture Design embraced the concept and decided a new design would be best to achieve this vision.

Shona took the brief and researched and developed the initial concepts and line drawings. Following a research visit to trade shows including Hix, to focus on textures, two concepts were designed including a concept with fluted chevrons, which would be key to the final design concept that was approved in March 2022.

Upon approval, production of the second sofa and ottoman began which included delivery of the new frames, foams and fabric from Agua, all of which were meticulously inspected on arrival before production began. The frame was prepared with the springs and foam ready for upholstering. The fabric was then cut and sewn before being carefully upholstered onto the furniture. Upon completion, the furniture was rigorously inspected by the Shackletons quality team before being packed and delivered to Danfloor ready for the Care Show.
