Craig-y-Dderwen Riverside Hotel is a 4 star Gold award-winning Country House Hotel, in Betws-y-Coed set within the Snowdonia National Park in North Wales.
The hotel is set in a much admired and envied position down a long private driveway on the banks of the River Conwy at the edge of Betws-y-Coed in Snowdonia. During the winter the hotel underwent a refurbishment which included an update to the flooring throughout the hotel and featured danfloor’s Origin range in the stairways, hallways and landing areas.
Oakwill Flooring where instructed to re-carpet the entire 4* country house hotel. Craig-y-Dderwen required high-end products and installation by a company that could work around the challenging timing requirements to get the job completed on time and with limited disruption. For the hall and stairways, the carpet had to contrast with the flooring chosen for the bedrooms whilst complimenting the overall colour palette. The carpets also needed to be in keeping with the character of the hotel and withstand heavy footfall and cleaning that would be required for communal areas.
Oakwill Flooring turned to danfloor Uk and their Origin range, from the Evolution Collection, for the stairways, hallways and landing. The range offers a traditional, yet contemporary, plaid design which is a perfect solution for the character and charm of the hotel and the colour chosen works well with the rest of the flooring throughout the hotel.
The pile weight and construction of the carpet provides a Class 33 heavy commercial use certification, which means that under regular and heavy footfall and wheeled traffic, the carpets will maintain their appearance and are built to last. The BI-OME antimicrobial yarn treatment is another built-in feature which offers the hotel added peace of mind when it comes to communal living and infection control.
The hotel is extremely happy with the refurbishment work completed to date and plans to refurbish additional communal spaces, using danfloor’s products, in the coming months.
