With the Government pledging to deliver a revolution in general mental health treatment there is increased pressure to improve services and care for an increasing number of vulnerable people.
Investing in good design is not only important for the service user’s safety, but can also have a profound effect on their psychological well-being. Supportive and welcoming environments can have a positive effect on all users of a facility. Research also suggests that recovery times can improve when an individual is cared for in an attractive and therapeutic environment.
At danfloor we believe that the installation of carpets can have a profound effect on improving what can be a very clinical environment which is why we will be exhibiting at this year’s Design in Mental Health Show at the National Mototcycle museum Birmingham.
Register for the event which is taking place on the 17th and 18th of May at http://www.designinmentalhealth.com/register/ and come and visit us on our stand.
We have also been featured in this month’s Pulse magazine who are looking at some of the initiatives designed to provide safe and quality care for those living with mental health conditions. You can read the article online http://flickread.com/edition/html/570b7fb847e9c#1
