Design in Mental Health Presentation

danfloor have been working closely with the Design In Mental Health Network over the past couple of years and in July 2017, with the assistance of the Network, the recommendation for the use of carpet within mental health facilities was included in the Department of Health Building Notes - Facilities for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services.

The recommendations were made based on a paper created by danfloor summarising research findings into the benefits of carpet within non clinical healthcare environments. The research paper drew on many relevant studies and the Design in Mental Health Network invited danfloor to present this paper at the 2018 Design in Mental Health Conference and Exhibition.

If you missed the presentation but would like to understand more about the therapeutic benefits of carpet and why they shouldn't be seen any more of an infection control risk or more difficult to clean than other flooring solutions view the presentation here.
