Traffik

Belong is a charitable organisation that provides high quality housing and care services for older people. As part of CLS Care Services Ltd, one of the largest providers of care homes in the North West, Belong Villages are designed around a village setting where building design and secure access to village amenities and the outdoors work in tandem to support an increasingly diverse population, including people living with dementia. Offering a radically different alternative to conventional care homes – Belong Wigan is one of the company’s five current village locations and is one of the largest purpose-built, care village developments in the North West.

THE AIM

Sophia Talarek, Facilities Manager at CLS states: “We chose danfloor to provide carpeting for Belong Wigan for a number of reasons including their extensive range of colours, which offered us a much wider choice than other manufacturers, as well as the carpet’s inherent qualities of longevity, sustainability and value for money.  After a few months we realised that after cleaning with, what I must admit was a fairly antiquated wet carpet cleaning system, the carpets were looking rather flat and dull with hard to get rid of residue from the cleaning system.”

“Looking at the carpets which were really not very old at all we thought they would last us for maybe three more years if we continued to clean them with our current carpet cleaning system which was obviously not going to offer the desired return on what is, as any  manager will know, an extremely expensive asset.”

THE SOLUTION

Belong consulted danfloor on the issues and Keith Sunenberry, danfloor’s Area Sales Manager, recommended a consultation with Traffik, a leading specialist cleaning and maintenance company for the Healthcare Sector.

THE OUTCOME

Traffik visited the village to help firstly, restore the carpet and then provide advice on a cleaning and maintenance regime to ensure that the danfloor carpet throughout the premises both kept its appearance and fulfilled its expected lifetime.

Sophia explains “We consulted with danfloor who recommended that we speak with Traffik who, using their new Oztech system, restored the carpets back to their original appearance which was amazing. Then working with our in-house cleaning team Traffik explained and guided them through a programme on how to best clean and maintain the carpet to ensure at least another seven years’ good use from them. This was a perfect combination of a carpet manufacturer and a cleaning service working hand in hand to save us both time and a lot of money!

“Looking ahead we are now planning to use a combination of our in-house team and Traffik who will come in on a regular basis to ensure that our in-house team are coping and to help with any deep cleans and restoration that may be needed in the future.”
