The Auberge

The Auberge is a family-run business that’s passionate about connecting with the local community and creating unforgettable experiences through exceptional hospitality and dining.

THE AIM

Eleven beautifully decorated and well-equipped bedrooms sit alongside an intimate restaurant at the heart of the original coaching inn. Since taking over the business in 2022, the hotel and the restaurant have been undergoing an impressive refurbishment.

The family behind The Auberge is dedicated to creating a truly immersive and indulgent experience, whether for business or leisure. Their signature restaurant, The Yaxley Bull, is set within the listed building and proudly holds two Rosettes for culinary excellence. To complement the fine dining experience, the refurbishment was designed to enhance the building’s character while creating a tasteful and tranquil atmosphere.

“’We had been looking around at different carpets and there was nothing that really suited us. Everything had too much of a commercial feel and we wanted the new project to reflect who we are as a business and the home-from-home feel we are striving to create” explains Katy, Owner of The Auberge.

THE SOLUTION

Jacqui Smith of Homesmiths, one of danfloor’s loyal interior designers, is a regular guest at the hotel and had no hesitation in recommending our products upon hearing about the upcoming refurbishment.

After reviewing the ranges, The Auberge team chose danfloor’s Equinox Collection, selecting Connect in Sandstone with Tones in Sienna as a border – creating a stunning, high-end finish.

We wanted the carpets and interior design to reflect who we are as business. We are so happy with the result and how it feels

THE OUTCOME

“We are so happy with the result and it feels like another piece of our puzzle is complete. Big thanks to John Doe of Diss for the exceptional fitting and to danfloor for making it possible, your professionalism and quality product has resulted in an amazing finish”

The Auberge is thrilled with the completed restaurant and looks forward to further refurbishment work in the near future. In the meantime, they can be confident that the Equinox Collection will provide the following benefits:

• Durability – The Equinox Collection is certified to British Standard classification 32 “Normal Commercial Use” enabling it to withstand high volumes of foot and wheeled traffic and intense commercial cleaning. Making the ranges ideal for the restaurant as well as other areas within the hotel.

• Antimicrobial yarn treatment – Equinox Connect and Tones feature Bi-Ome®, an advanced permanent antimicrobial treatment specifically crafted to eliminate harmful bacteria and mould, which is particularly important within a hospitality setting.

• Spill safe – All of the selected carpets have an integral protective membrane, preventing liquid spills from penetrating through to the subfloor, reducing contamination, fungal growth, and unpleasant odours.

• Naturally Sound absorbent – Danfloor carpets offer exceptional sound absorption, reducing sound impact levels by over 28dB. This creates an environment where people can communicate and socialise comfortably.

• Appearance Retention – Crafted from solution-dyed polypropylene yarn, the Equinox Collections present a colourfast system that locks in vibrant hues. This ensures exceptional colour and light-fastness, maintaining their appearance even when exposed to rigorous cleaning chemicals.

• Soft Underfoot – Carpets offer a soft and inviting surface and helps to reduce leg strain, which is particularly important for the hotel staff who may be on their feet for prolonged periods.
