Montpellier Manor

MHA is an award-winning charity providing care, accommodation and support services for older people throughout Britain. Their aim is to eliminate isolation and loneliness among older people by connecting them in purpose built and beautifully designed communities that care.

Opened in 2018, Montpellier Manor offers a beautiful residential and dementia care home for up to 85 people

THE AIM

MHA and Angela Swift Developments set out to develop a purpose-built facility which offers privacy and independence, friendship and support in a beautifully designed environment, which feels just like home. The development created 85 private en-suite bedrooms as well as a range of stunning communal areas, a café bistro and a hair and beauty salon.

Creating a home from home feeling was essential and therefore carpet was required throughout a number of locations within the home. The carpet would need to offer high performance characteristics and sit well within the considered design scheme.

THE SOLUTION

The home was immediately attracted to the recently launched Evolution Collection, with an array of stunning designs and on trend colours, which met their design brief. Paynters Flooring Services were one of the first flooring contractors to install Origin with its bold plaid design and Manhattan and Glaze with their subtle patterns for communal areas, corridors and lounges in shades of grey and powder blue to support the overall design scheme. In addition to the patterned carpet ranges the more tonal Equinox and Equinox Tones in mustard and mushroom were selected for the bedrooms.

THE OUTCOME

With the installation of the Evolution Collection the homes design scheme really comes together and creates an interior which is more familiar with a high-end hotel. danfloor’s carpets were used throughout, not only for their exceptional performance features but because of their stunning designs and colours which create a solid foundation for the interior finish.

The combination of the Evolution and Equinox Collection work extremely well across the whole building and
compliment all the finishes used throughout. Both Collections offer the following performance characteristics:

Extreme Durability – The Evolution Collection is certified to British standards classification 33 “Heavy Commercial Use” enabling it to withstand high volumes of foot and wheeled traffic and intense commercial cleaning, it’s therefore ideal for use within the care home corridors and communal areas.

Appearance Retention – Manufactured using solution dyed Nylon and Polypropylene yarns, both the Evolution and Equinox Collection offer a locked in colourfast system which ensures superior colour and lightfastness even when subject to harsh cleaning chemicals.

Spill Safe – Evolution and Equinox have an integral protective membrane, preventing liquid spills penetrating through the sub floor, reducing contamination, fungal growth and  unpleasant odours.

Naturally Sound absorbent – danfloor carpets have great sound absorption qualities, achieving in excess of 27dB reduction in sound impact levels, which helps to creates a “therapeutic environment” in which people can relax.

Antimicrobial Yarn Treatment – The Equinox Collection has been developed to include the innovative Bi-Ome® antimicrobial treatment which is designed to kill harmful bacteria including those that can cause MRSA and E-coli.
