Lakeview Grange

The person-centered care offered at Lakeview Grange allows residents to live with as much independence as possible. The holistic approach to the comfort and wellbeing of each and every person who lives at Lakeview, places respect and dignity at the forefront of the care delivered, and the team strives to make each day special for all residents, offering tailored support and exemplary care as often, or as little as needed.

THE AIM

Cinnamon Care is committed to delivering exceptional care within a prestigious setting, and for their interior design needs, they turn to Catalyst Interiors. The home features 47 en-suite bedrooms, and 4 fully furnished care suites, and an intimate lounge diner on each floor. The centre of the home is the Café Bar – a buzzing hive of activity, off this is a stunning private dining room, hair & beauty salon, and a home cinema. Catalyst’s Interior Designer Jade Mannion, sought to create a luxurious and elegant central hub area that transitions to a warm and welcoming homely environment within the residential areas. Together, Cinnamon Care and Jade set a goal to design a space where residents could truly feel at home and live life to the fullest.

THE SOLUTION

Recognising the many benefits carpets bring to care settings, Jade selected several ranges from the Evolution Collection and Evolve from the Equinox Collection. Geo Form adds a stunning touch to the communal lounges, Forest enhances the luxury of the private dining room, and Chevron is the ideal design for the cinema room. These thoughtfully chosen schemes and the inviting atmospheres they create are why Jade Manion and Catalyst Interiors were honoured with The 2024 Healthcare Design Award for Best Interior Design.

THE OUTCOME

The interior of Lakeview Grange has been meticulously designed with comfort and functionality in mind. The right environment coupled with the right care and the right stimulation can transform people’s lives, helping them to feel happier and more fulfilled – this was the ultimate goal. Central to this thoughtful design is the use of Danfloor’s high-quality carpets, which offer a range of benefits that enhance both the aesthetics and practicality of the care home’s spaces and include the following benefits:

•Extreme durability – The Evolution Collection boasts certification to British Standard classification 33, signifying its resilience for “Heavy Commercial Use.” This accreditation ensures its capability to endure substantial foot and wheeled traffic, as well as withstand rigorous commercial cleaning procedures.
•Antimicrobial yarn treatment – Both the Equinox and the Evolution Collections feature Bi-Ome®, an advanced permanent antimicrobial treatment specifically crafted to eliminate harmful bacteria, including those responsible for infections such as MRSA and C. Diff.
•Spill safe – All of the selected carpets have an integral protective impervious membrane, preventing liquid spills from penetrating through to the subfloor, reducing contamination, fungal growth, and unpleasant odours.
•Naturally Sound absorbent – Danfloor carpets exhibit excellent sound absorption characteristics, surpassing a 28dB reduction in sound impact levels. This contributes to the establishment of a “therapeutic environment,” fostering relaxation and effective communication for individuals within the space.
•Appearance Retention – Crafted from solution-dyed Nylon and Polypropylene yarns, the Evolution and Equinox Collections present a colourfast system that locks in vibrant hues. This ensures exceptional colour and light-fastness, maintaining their brilliance even when exposed to rigorous cleaning chemicals.
•Reduction in fall injuries – In contrast to hard surface floors, carpeting has been shown to decrease injuries resulting from trips and falls. Research indicates that older individuals exhibit greater gait speed and step length when walking on carpeted surfaces compared to vinyl.
