THE AIM
The condition of a clinical environment has a massive influence on how a patient feels. Research suggests that recovery times can improve when an individual is cared for in an attractive and therapeutic environment.
Working closely with Gilling Dod Architects Greater Manchester West Mental Health Trust wanted to move away from the traditional and stereotypical “psychiatric ward” and create a light, clean, stylish and airy environment to inspire the young people’s recovery.
THE SOLUTION
Whilst trying to create a safe environment the Trust worked hard to design a stylish and colourful interior. Striking colours including Jazzberry and Aurora were selected from the Equinox Stripe and Tones ranges to create this co-ordinating, inspiring and welcoming setting.
The Equinox collection was selected for its exceptional performance characteristics, sound absorption properties and 10 year wear guarantee. In addition to this the ranges have a luxurious and quality look to them whilst still providing a cost effective flooring solution for the unit. Furthermore in years to come the carpets will maintain their look and feel even when subject to liquid spills and abrasive cleaning regimes.
