Meet the team

Although it takes just 15 minutes to produce just one roll of carpet a lot work goes into product development, stock and shipping logistics and the manufacturing process as a whole.

Within this section you’ll meet some of the key people behind the scenes.

Rikke Christensen

Rikke is the main point of contact between the Uk and Denmark when it comes to production planning and shipping. Rikke is responsible for ensuring we have enough stock and that it’s in England when we require it.

Rikke enjoys the planning process as it requires a lot of product knowledge in order to co-ordinate activities across departments. It also requires her to apply her problem solving skills to ensure that demand for our product range is met.

Rikke is a long standing member of staff at danfloor as she started with the company at the young age of 12. Back in the early days young children were brought in after their school day to strip the yarn cones of any remaining fibre, a task which is now done by machinery.

Soon after starting this role danfloor saw Rikke’s potential and employed her as an Office Apprentice where she worked in many departments from finance to planning. Due to Rikke’s language skills she worked in sales focusing on Germany, Norway and the USA before joining the planning team 4 years ago.

Rikke enjoys the challenges of her role and meeting the deadlines set by the backing plant, shipment companies and danfloor in the UK.

When she’s not at work Rikke spends time with her girls Lærke aged 4, Michelle aged 6 and her husband of 8 years Karsten. Rikke is also a personal trainer and fitness instructor in her spare time and currently teaches 2-3 classes a week and has 3 clients she regularly meets for training sessions which she finds very rewarding.

With this in mind it’s not surprising when asked what three things she would most like with her if stranded on a desert island is her family, the thickest autobiography she could find and her running shoes.
