Meet the team
Although it takes just 15 minutes to produce just one roll of carpet a lot work goes into product development, stock and shipping logistics and the manufacturing process as a whole.
Within this section you’ll meet some of the key people behind the scenes.
Mohamid Mustafa
Mohamid joined danfloor in 1994 creeling, the process of loading all of the cones containing the carpet fibre in the correct order ready for the production of the carpet. For one 4 meter roll of carpet it takes 1273 cones which takes 1 person between 2 and 7 hours, depending upon how many cones need changing, creeling a machine is a task which requires much concentration.
After 5 years Mohamid moved onto operating the tufting machine, which is where he learnt the whole manufacturing process. Mohamid enjoys the variety of his role which includes maintaining the machine and quality control, all of which keeps his mind very active.
Mohamid’s favourite product is the Equinox range and he particularly likes the new colours.
Mohamid is kept busy on and off the job with his twin boys of 21 and his daughter of 15. He enjoys cooking which he did professionally before moving into manufacturing and spending time with his dog Rockie. When asked if stranded on a desert island the three things he would want with him are his wife, children and dog, which I’m sure would keep him on his toes!
