Meet the team
Although it takes just 15 minutes to produce just one roll of carpet a lot work goes into product development, stock and shipping logistics and the manufacturing process as a whole.
Within this section you’ll meet some of the key people behind the scenes.
Claus Madsen
Claus Madsen Product Development management for danfloor Denmark manages the product development process from tufting the actual carpet to procuring quality materials and negotiating the best possible prices.
Claus started his working career as an apprentice in the wooden industry, where he was taught to make kitchen cabinets, before joining Military School when he was 18 years old. His experience in purchasing started at an electrical wholesaler before moving to ege carpets in 1995 where he work as a Purchasing Assistant within Product Development, which is where his interest in this area developed.
In 2001 Claus bought his 16 years of experience to danfloor where he introduced polypropylene and the unique Prism fibre carpet to the company. Now with over 25 years of experience within the industry Claus provides the innovation behind the danfloor product range.
The practicality of manufacturing plays a key role in his design and colour inspiration. Taking into account the limitations of machinery and the possibilities of suppliers he applies his knowledge and skills to developing new product ranges.
Claus believes the success of the innovative product range is down to the uniqueness and quality of the products which makes them difficult to copy.
When Claus isn’t enjoying the diversity and challenges of his role he enjoys playing golf and fishing. His competitive nature has been passed to his daughter who is the ladies 2009 Danish Golf Champion.
If Claus was to find himself on a desert island the three things he would like to have are his golf clubs and balls, his fishing rod and no rain.
