THE HAMPTONS

The Hamptons Care Centre is a luxurious care home located in Lytham St Annes. The home which is owned by New Care Homes is a purpose-built 76 bed care facility providing expert dementia, nursing and residential care. Expertly designed to meet all current CQC requirements The Hamptons provides the highest standards of safety, comfort and care.

THE AIM

New Care Homes wanted to create a home which offers a Person Centre Approach but also caters for the needs of all their residents, especially those living with additional needs such as dementia. Interior Designer Katie McGoff, of McGoff and Byrne, was appointed to ensure that internally the décor achieves a high standard of specification and reflects a luxurious living environment for all.

As The Hamptons provides a variety of levels of support, from residential to dementia care, the type of finishes and furnishings have to be carefully considered throughout the home especially when it comes to floor finishes, where design and durability is essential for such an environment.

THE SOLUTION

Katie selected danfloor to supply carpets for The Hampstons due to the suitability of the product range and the variety of designs and colours available. “danfloor seemed to offer everything I was looking for when it came to carpet for the communal lounges and bedrooms. I was able to select from multiple ranges to pick colours and designs to suit the locations and also the residents who would be using those areas.”

Katie was one of the first designers to specify Equinox Evolve and used it within some of the residential lounges. The texture of the design complimented the textiles used within the scheme and the colour selected will help minimise the visual effects of soiling and stains.

A combination of Equinox and Tones were selected for the bedrooms, to help create that home from home feeling. Tones was specifically selected for rooms where residents required a more tonal scheme which is visually less distracting.

THE OUTCOME

Katie’s attention to detail has resulted in a home which is designed to a high specification with impeccable detail, resulting in a care setting which is stylish, yet comfortable and practical for all residents.

The combination of products selected from the Equinox Collection allowed Katie to mix textures and designs to suit the rest of the interior design scheme. Furthermore, the way the products are manufactured and the type of yarn used in the carpets ensures that they will perform in such a demanding environment and will last over time. Some of the key product performance features include:

Made from Prism™ Fibre – Enhances the colour of the carpet and minimises the visual effects of soiling and stains

Bi-Ome® – An antimicrobial yarn treatment which kills micro-organisms when they come into contact with the carpet fibre and therefore assists with infection control.

Impervious membrane – stops surface spills reaching and contaminating the sub floor.

Locked in colour – Manufactured using solution dyed fibre, the locked in colourfast system ensures superior colour and light-fastness even when subject to harsh cleaning chemicals.

Great sound absorption qualities – Reduces noise reverberation times and creates a “therapeutic environment” in which people can relax.
