The finest carpet yarns

Carpet fibre determines the quality of a carpet. The fibre influences many aspects such as surface structure, colour and feel as well as the functional benefits including resilience to wear, colour fastness and soil and stain resistance.

danfloor use a variety of yarns including branded yarns and yarns which they have manufactured themselves.

Invista Antron Nylon

danfloor use the Antron and Antron legacy fibre within their commercial range of carpets, helping them to produce carpets with outstanding performance characteristics.

Due to their excellent wear features, carpets made from the Antron and Antron LEGACY carpet fibres are ideal for use in offices, hotels, restaurants, and other commercial premises where an attractive appearance, maximum wear resistance and easy cleaning are essential.

The polymide 6.6 (Nylon6.6), which forms the basis of the Antron fibre, has a significant number of hydrogen bonds giving it an optimum molecular chain alignment, and therefore a tighter and stronger molecular structure than other polyamides.

With the Antron Legacy fibre the hollow spaces scatter the light so that dirt is less visible. The combined effect of optimum light scattering and small, smooth surface area makes cleaning more efficient. In premises subject to heavy soiling, intervals between cleaning can be extended.

The special characteristics of Antron and Antron Legacy carpet fibre are very hardwearing and give:

Wear resistance / Good appearance retention

The Antron pile fibre has outstanding anti crush properties. When chairs and furniture are moved the carpet pile recovers quickly so that minimal impressions remain.

Low soiling

The high fibre crystallinity of the polyamide 6.6 produces a very hard fibre which makes it difficult for soiling particles to stick to the surface of the carpet, therefore reducing soil adherence and assisting with the removal of dirt during vacuum cleaning.

Heat resistance

Antron carpet fibre easily achieves the highest fire performance rating of Bfl and Cfl according to EN 13501-1 for textile floor coverings.

Antistatic

Antron carpet fibre contains fine, conductive polyamide fibres that protect against electrostatic charges throughout the life of the carpet.
